Work experience
I graduated with a degree in Integrated Product Design from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001 where I was responsible for organising the final year show. This included designing the website for the show and gathering sponsorship and funding from local companies.
At the age of 23, I moved to Japan where I initially worked as a business English instructor. This position allowed me to develop organisational and communication skills while working in some of the country's largest companies such as Sony, NEC and Nissan.
Although I enjoyed the job, I wanted to work in the digital media industry. I joined a small company whose clients included major, multinational blue chip organisations in a variety of industries. My responsiblities included running SEM campaigns worth thousands of Dollars daily, designing websites with particular focus on SEO as well as general web site design.
In my spare time, I designed websites for small companies and bands.

The work also included the creation and execution of on-line marketing methods, on-site SEO, web site additions and adjustments as and when the client required. |

| Focus: | Working within a team to extremely strict branding guidelines to create a microsite. The site is used to explain how Accenture works to potential new recruits. The team worked closely with the client through a series of telephone conference calls to meet their design requirements. |

| Focus: | Complete redesign of the band's website working with the different members to achieve the look and feel required. |

| Focus: | Complete redesign of the company's site. Work included SEO, extensive image manipulation and optimisation, creating galleries and interactive Google maps to highlight particular holidays on offer from the company. Since the redesign, the company has seen a large increase in holiday bookings due. |
